Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 10/27/10

Receipts:  1372   Last Week:  1028   Last Year:  817

   Compared to last Wednesday, breaking and boning slaughter cows sold
2.00-3.00 lower while lean cows sold steady to 2.00 lower and slaughter
bulls sold 1.00-2.00 lower. Cooler temperatures are a reminder that winter
may be just around the corner and heavier receipts indicate that producers
are making preparations for the coming season. Several herd dispersals
provided a supply of good quality pairs and bred cows. Supply was heavy
and demand moderate for slaughter classes.
