The Upper Shoal Creek Watershed Improvement Group is hoping to expand its volunteer Stream Team activities and to encourage community involvement the group is holding a free soup and chil dinner.
The meal and community discussion on expanding the Stream Team effort will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1 at the former Pioneer Baptist Church.
Andrew Branson, Missouri Department of Conservation Stream Team program coordinator, will be the guest speaker. He will explain typical Stream Tea activities and show the 20th anniversary Missouri Stream Team video.
Branson will also lead a community discussion on volunteer opportunities for improving and protecting water quality within the Upper Shoal Creek Watershed.
The event is open to the public, and all community members are encouraged to attend and join the discussion.
