The Pierce City Lady Eagles softball teams magical season came to a conclusion last Saturday as they fell 5-0 to Warsaw.
"It was tough," said Pierce City Head Coach Darin Henderson. "We made a couple mistakes that allowed Warsaw to score and we couldn't recover."
Pierce City could only manage one hit over seven innings.
"I thought we came out a little nervous," said Henderson "We ran into a very good pitcher who had a lot of movement on her pitches."
The Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first off a Haely Kreisel three-run homerun. Warsaw added two more in the sixth off a Kristina Strader single.
|Although the Lady Eagles fell they have several positives to take from this season.||All 12 player return next year, the experienced gained from this season should help them push even deeper into the playoffs.|
"I am very proud of this team." said Henderson. "They never stopped battling in this game. I am fortunate to have the all back next year."
Pierce City finished the season 19-7, Spring River Valley Champions, district and sectional champions.
