Mr. Eugene William "Shorty" Hall, 71, of Monett, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Cox South in Springfield. He was born April 10, 1939 in Jenkins, Mo. to Earl and Dortha (Hilton) Hall. He was united in marriage to Eileen Long on December 31, 1996 in Monett, Mo.
Shorty was retired from Tyson, was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church of Monett and former Sunday School teacher. He was also a member of the Lawrence County Coon Association. He very much enjoyed coon hunting, fishing and bull riding.
Shorty is survived by his wife along with one son: Dave and wife, Linda Hall, of Springfield; one daughter: Susan and husband, Rodney Snyder, of Springfield; two step-daughters: Darleen DeHaven, of West Valley, Utah and Cathleen Michael, of Tucson, Az.; three sisters: Jessie Holt, of Hannah, SC, Georgie Kennedy, of Ore City, Texas and Betty Davis, of Marionville, Mo; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday Oct. 18, 2010 at the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Mo. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at the Latter Day Saints Church of Monett. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Cassville, Mo.
