Receipts:  988   Last Week:  912   Last Year:  689

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher
and slaughter bulls sold 1.00-2.00 lower. Several herd dispersals were 
included in the offering providing a large number of quality bred cows and
with several additional buyers on hand today the bred cow market was
strong. Supply and demand were moderate for slaughter classes.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth 2nd
and 3rd stage 945-1350 lbs most 725.00-935.00, some more attractive 950.00-
1000.00, 1st stage 1000-1300 lbs 650.00-860.00; short and solid mouth to
aged 2nd and 3rd stage 1085-1300 lbs 595.00-735.00. Large 1-2  5 yrs to
short and solid mouth 2nd and 3rd stage 1400-1570 lbs 825.00-985.00; broken
mouth 3rd stage 1380 lb indiv. 780.00. Medium and Large 2  6-7 yrs 2nd and
3rd stage couple 1095-1150 lbs 550.00-750.00, 1st stage pkg. 1175 lbs 625.00;
