Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 10/11/2010

   Compared to last Monday, slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 higher and
slaughter bulls sold 1.00-5.00 lower with the greatest decline on the higher
dressing bulls. A very high percent of the offering went to slaughter. Bred
cows and cow/calf pairs were scarce. Supply of slaughter classes was moderate
and demand was moderate for slaughter cows but demand was light for slaughter
bulls.

Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  4-5 yrs 2nd and 3rd stage few 1060-
1200 lbs 735.00-875.00, 1st stage 6-7 yrs couple 1080-1145 lbs 610.00-
735.00. Large 1-2  5-6 yrs 2nd and 3rd stage 1475-1505 lbs 875.00-900.00;
