The Barry County Health Department board members reviewed proposed updates for the Barry County food service ordinance at their September meeting but tabled any action on the matter until all officials had the opportunity to thoroughly review those changes.
Health Department Administrator Roger Brock also updated board members on a number of activities that he participated in during the month of August.
According to Brock, the department has received approval from the State of Missouri to provide computer-issued birth and death certificates at the Monett office. The department has also entered into an internship training agreement with Crowder College for clerical work.
Brock updated the board on the upcoming flu season. Members were advised that the department had a good supply of vaccinations, which would be administered to the public at a cost of $15 this year.
Revenues for the month of August were up 194 percent for the year with the ending total for both Monett and Cassville at $9,331, compared to $4,786.55 last year.
Brock reported that employees with the department attended training on the National Strategic Stockpile ordering of antibiotics. The exercise is to familiarize staff on protocols used in the event of a national biological emergency.
