Six hurt in crashes

Five members of a Verona family were hurt in a single vehicle crash at 10 p.m. on Saturday on Highway Z, eight miles east of Monett.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Calvin Bloomer, 23, was driving west in a 1997 Chevrolet SUV when the vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned. Amber Bloomer, 19, and Morgan Bloomer, 2, both received serious injuries. Calvin Bloomer and his daughters, Ashley, 6, Alesia, 4, received minor injuries. All were taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Morgan Bloomer was transported by helicopter. Alesia Bloomer was the only party wearing a safety belt.

Other crash reports

* A Mt. Vernon woman received moderate injuries in a crash at 2:20 p.m. on Friday one mile west of Mt. Vernon on Interstate 44. Crystal Schubert, 31, was driving east when she lost control of her 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, which struck a guardrail and overturned. Schubert, who was wearing a safety belt, was transported to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment.
