The Monett Cubs soccer team took control of Thursday night's 6-1 win over Thomas Jefferson from the very first minute, literally.

The Cubs' Efrain Ceniceros scored goals in the eight and 14th minute, with an assist on each from Travis Thompson. Eddie Aceves found the back of the net in the 25th minute, and Thompson scored goals in the 27th and 53rd minute with Adolfo Ramirez getting an assist on his second goal.

Monett's goalie Freddy Lopez had seven saves.

"We played well tonight," said Monett Head Coach Jeremy Wilson. "This is a good win for our program and we can feed off its momentum."
