Verona wins two

The Verona Lady Wildcats (14-6-2) won two matches this week defeating Everton 25-22, 22-7 Tuesday night, and defeating Thomas Jefferson in three sets 23-25, 25-11 and 25-23.

Against Everton, Jessica Smith's four kills, three aces and seven digs led the Lady Wildcats. Jenna Chadd added 10 assists, one kill and two aces. Tristan Carrasquillo contributed five kills, five blocks and eight digs. Lynnsey Youngberg had three digs and two aces. Also chipping in for Verona: Taylor Pinkly, five digs; Shelby Barsotti, two assists, one dig; Amanda Mullen, two kills and one block and Kelsei Krueger one ace.
Against Thomas Jefferson, Carrasquillo's 16 kills and two blocks led the Lady Wildcats statistically. Smith added 12 kills, 11 digs and three aces. Pinkly added 24 digs and Mullen had five blocks.

Verona hosts Greenfield next Monday.
