Missouri Weekly Hay Summary Week ending 10/08/10

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Chamber of commerce weather here in the state the past week, has allowed the
combines to roll, and harvest of corn and soybeans is in full swing. Light
frost in some low lying areas this past week confirms that fall is here, and
is forcing hay production to near completion. The cooler temperatures have
most cool season grass pastures in excellent shape, except those in south
central and southeast, where a rain would still be welcome anytime. The supply
of hay is moderate, demand light to moderate, and prices steady. Missouri
Department of Agriculture has a hay directory available for both buyers and
sellers. To be listed, or for a directory, visit,
