Selina Craig, age 92, of Monett, passed from this life on Tuesday evening, September 28, 2010, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield.
Selina was born in St. Louis, MO., on February 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Robert and Rosemary (Trinkle) Vogt. Selina graduated from Monett High School in 1935 and then furthered her education at SMSU where she received her Bachelor's Degree. Selina then obtained her Master's Degree in Education from Drury University.
Selina was a school teacher for several area schools including Bellview, Plymouth and Monett. She retired in 1986 after teaching for over 40 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monett and the Retired Teacher's Association.
On December 29, 1956, in Monett, Selina Vogt was united in marriage to Walker H. Craig and he survives. Additional survivors include two sons, James Breeden and wife Jan of Parker, CO.; Walker H. Craig III and wife Rebecca of Simi Valley, CA.; eight grandchildren, James Breeden, Tami Denney, Christopher Breeden, Leah Craig, Grace Craig, Emily Craig, Ansel Craig and Ethan Craig; eight great-grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews. Selina was preceded in death by one son, Robert Breeden; and two sisters, Roberta Roberson and Angela White McGee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Craig will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Monett with Reverend Clif Crockett officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monett.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions have been requested to the Selina Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
