The 15th annual Golden Age Games, sponsored by District 4 of the missouri Health Care Association, will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 at Monett High School.
Nursing home residents from throughout the area will gather for a wide range of events, competing in cow milking, hog calling, basketball toss and wheelchair races among others. Each resident will receive a Golden Age Games T-shirt and certificate of participation.
Winners will go home with medals to show their friends and families. Each participating facility will receive a group photo and a plaque to take back and share with those unable to attend. Around 1,500 people, including residents, volunteers and sponsors participated last year.
Volunteers are sought to judge events. Anyone willing to help can call the business office at Lacoba Homes at 235-7895.
Donations are also being sought to cover expenses. Donations can be mailed to Administrator Mike Baldus, Lacoba Homes, PO Box 885, Monett, MO 65708.
