An Aurora teenager was charged with felony assault on a law officer in Greene County on Saturday night when he attempted to run from officers following a one-vehicle crash in Republic.
According to an arrest report issued by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Aaron A. Gorman, 17, was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after he ran his 1993 Toyota 4-Runner off the roadway, crossed the railroad tracks, struck a sign and telephone and finally came to rest in a ditch. He then attempted to flee from officers.
Once Gorman was apprehended, he was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield and treated for minor injuries. The crash occurred at 6:41 p.m. at the intersection of O'Neil Street and Highway 60 in Republic.

* An Alabama truck driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 one mile east of Mt. Vernon on Friday night. The incident occurred when Gary L. Peddycoart, 53, of Birmingham, Ala., began experiencing chest pains and traveled off the right side of the highway. The Patrol report indicated that Peddycoart did not sustain any injuries from the accident but was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield because of the chest pains. The incident occurred at 5:50 p.m.
