The Monett Lady Cubs volleyball team had to wait a little while Thursday night but got its first win of the season, 25-23 and 25-20, over Central in Springfield.

"It was a long and exhausting night," Lady Cubs Coach Shyrah Perry said. "We came out strong and focused.
"Offensively we were much stronger than our last game," Coach Perry added. "We made smart decisions with our hits and played with more energy."
Hunter Glouse and Elise Meyer had seven kills each for the Lady Cubs. Madison Carlin added 10 assists and six digs.
The Lady Cubs will be in action next Thursday at Reeds Spring.
