Estella Augusta Fritz of Joplin, MO went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, Aug. 31, 2010 at Jordan Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield at the age of 86 after a long illness.
Miss Fritz began her life on April 19, 1924, born to the late Emil O. and Erna A. (Kaiser) Fritz in Joplin, MO. She was a graduate of Joplin Senior High, earned her elementary education degree from St. John's College in Winfield, Kan. and received her masters degree from Kansas State College of Pittsburg.
She taught at Trinity Lutheran School in Winfield, Kansas for eight years, then she returned to Joplin to become the first teacher of the Immanuel Lutheran School now Martin Luther School. She truly dedicated her life to her Lord, and touched everyone she met with her passion for her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her half brothers: Carl Fritz and Alvin Fritz, and one half sister: Irma Fritz Bollwinkel.
Miss Fritz is survived by her two nephews: Carl Fritz of Aurora, MO and Carl Bollwinkel of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She also leaves behind her friend and caregiver, Toni Roush and family, husband, Bill and children, Tammy Mast, Eric Roush and Karen Wood. She is also survived by her numerous God children that she so faithfully looked over.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin with Reverend Gregory Mech officiating. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Church Cemetery in Freistatt, MO. No visitation is scheduled upon request of Miss Fritz.
