PC Eagles are ready for Liberal

Thursday, September 2, 2010

One would think winning a football game 48-7 would make a coach totally happy. Pierce City Eagles Football Coach Mac Whitehead would disagree.

"I thought our team played very well in two out of the three phases of the game," Whitehead said. "Offensively, our line opened up holes. Defensively, we shut them down. However, on special teams we need to improve."

For the Eagles the game plan is very simple.

"We are going to establish the run," Whitehead said. "We need our front five guys to wear down Liberal, and we need to put together sustained drives. Defensively we need to play assignment football and swarm to the ball."

The Eagles kickoff on Friday at 7 p.m,
