A Kansas man was killed in a two-vehicle crash four miles west of Eagle Rock yesterday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Aaron Walker, 23, of Wichita, Kan., was southbound in Route 4 at 6:06 p.m. when his 1999 Mazda crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2000 Mercedes driven by Cara Proehl, 42, of Shell Knob. The head-on collision totaled both vehicles.
Walker was pronounced dead at the scene by Assistant Barry County Coroner Charlie McManus. Larry Proehl, a passenger in the Proehl vehicle, received minor injuries and was taken to St. John's Hospital-Cassville for treatment. Cara Proehl was unhurt. The Proehls and Walker were all wearing safety belts.

* A Monett woman received moderate injuries in a single vehicle crash one mile east of Galena on Highway 176 in Stone County yesterday. Denise Fly, 41, was westbound in a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer at 8:35 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her vehicle hydroplaned, traveling off the left side of the road and overturned. Fly was not wearing her seat belt. She was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment.
* Darlene Phillips, 51, of Cassville, received minor injuries in a single vehicle crash at 6 p.m. yesterday on Highway 86, two miles west of Lampe. Phillips was driving west in a 1987 Mercedes when she lost control on wet pavement. The car left the roadway and struck a tree. Phillips was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield for treatment. It is not known if she was wearing a seat belt.
* A single-vehicle wreck on Highway B one mile west of Purdy on Tuesday sent a Granby woman to a Cassville hospital. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 6:25 p.m. when the driver of a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder, Erika R. Demoss, 30, ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road. The vehicle struck a fence and overturned. Demoss received minor injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to St. John's Hospital-Cassville. She was not wearing a safety belt.
* A single-vehicle wreck on Highway W three miles east of Wheaton yesterday resulted in serious injuries for a Grove, Okla., man. The wreck occurred at 6:35 p.m. when the driver of a 2007 Mack truck, Gary R. Boosted, 57, failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle overturned and slid off the road. Boosted was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was not wearing a safety belt.
