Three hurt in weekend crashes

Monday, August 30, 2010

Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Washburn on Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevrolet truck, driven by James Butts, 18, of Washburn, failed to yield after stopping and drove into the side of a 2006 Chevrolet SUV, driven by Shawn Ragan, 29, of Washburn. The crash occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Highway 37.

Butts received moderate injuries. Johnathon Case, 20, of Purdy, a passenger in the Butts vehicle, received minor injuries. Both were taken to St. John's Hospital in Cassville for treatment. Butts was wearing a safety belt and Case was not. Ragan was not injured.

Other crashes

A Little River, Kan., teen was hurt in a single vehicle crash at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday four miles east of Miller on Farm Road 2052. Samuel Hobbs, 15, received moderate injuries when he failed to negotiate a curve in his 2005 Ford Ranger, drove off the road and overturned. Hobbs was not wearing a safety belt and was taken to St. John's hospital in Springfield for treatment.

There are several errors in this article. There were 3 people including myself in my vehicle. Jonathon Case was in my vehicle, and was wearing his safety belt. He from Washburn, not Purdy. I had 2nd degree airbag burns on my right arm, so I sustained minor injuries. My front seat passenger who was not mentioned in the article was 24 year old Brandon Johnson, who also received minor injuries. All three of the people in my vehicle went to the Emergency Room. The "Butts" person that hit me did not have any insurance, so I am having having to pay for an accident I clearly did not cause. Please retrack these errors about Jonathon, he has already suffered enough through this nightmare.
