A large crowd gathered Saturday night at Burl Fowler Stadium for Monett High School's annual fall sports pride night.

The event introduced the students who will represent MHS in fall athletics, cheerleading and marching band.

In conjuction with the Sports Pride Night the Monett Athletic Booster Club started their 2010 membership drive.

"Every year the boosters hold this drive in to increase the organizations membership which supports all MHS athletics." Booster Club's President Dennis Childress said. "The motto for this year's club is Cub-Pride-Catch the Spirit."

The Booster Club is comprised of an 18 member board.

"The board members are a great bunch to work with," Childress said. "They are focused on teamwork and helping the students as much as possible."

The Booster's support all high school athletic programs by providing monetary assistance, volunteer support and promoting team spirit.

"The money raised by our organization goes directly to improving our athletic programs and facilities," Childress said.

"We work very closely with Athletic Director Daryl Bradley trying to meet the needs of the athletic departments" Childress said.

"In the past we have purchased various uniforms, helped remodel the restrooms at the football field and purchased new mats for the wrestling team" Childress added.

"The Booster Club want to thank all the generous businesses and members in the community," Childress said. "We know that without their support, none of what we do for the students is possible."
