Monett High School will host its annual Fall Sports Pride Night at the Burl Fowler Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 14.
The event offers the community an opportunity to watch the football Cubs scrimmage and meet all the athletes who will be competing for Monett High School this fall. Cheerleaders and members of the Monett High School marching band will also be introduced.
The evening will begin at 5:45 p.m. with a "Tailgate Party" hosted by the Monett Athletic Boosters to kickoff the group's 2010-11 "Cub Pride: Catch the Spirit" membership drive. Cub fans can join the Booster Club that evening, and anyone who signs up as a new member will receive a free hamburger or hot dogs, chips and a drink.
"Last year we had over 70 families and 20 businesses sign up as Booster Club members," said Brian Homfeldt, who serves as the club's fundraising/membership chairman.
