Plans to rebuild the Pizza Hut in Monett are nearly complete.
According to Patricia Hopkins with Hammon-Kurtz, the Lebanon-based owner of the local Pizza Hut franchise, the decisions needed to replace the building destroyed by a tornado on May 13 are almost completed. The main delay has been working with separate insurance adjusters for the equipment, the property and the building.
"There's no question the insurance company will take care of what we've been paying them to do all these years," Hopkins said.
In addition, Pizza Hut Inc., had to be consulted over what kind of building to put back on the site. Hopkins said the building decision had been reached in the past week.
"We're very close to an all clear," Hopkins said. "We have a contractor. The minute we have a go-ahead, work will start. All along our plan has been to get back up and running as soon as possible."
