The Purdy Lady Eagles volleyball team will hold its first practice on Monday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to noon. The Lady Eagles softball team also will practice on Aug. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m. Coaches will distribute a practice schedule during the first practices. Golf tournament

to benefit Children's Center in Monett

The eighth annual Children's Center Open golf tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Windmill Ridge Golf Course in Monett. The four-person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 6 a.m. The cost to enter is $160 per team plus the cost of a cart or $40 per person plus the cost of a cart. The entry fee includes complimentary drinks and a continental breakfast and lunch. Purdy Schools to

hold sports physicals clinic on Aug. 10

Sports physicals will be given to Purdy R-II School athletes on Tuesday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon in the high school gym. Cost for the physical is $5 per student.
