Lady Cubs have busy summer

The Monett volleyball team has had a busy summer of work while preparing for the 2010 season, according to Lady Cub Coach Shyrah Boyle. The squad recently attended the Licking Camp at Branson and also participated in the Carl Junction Spike Wars.

"We are a very much improved group," said Boyle. "We are learning to play together and win."
Try-outs for the Monett volleyball team will be conducted on Aug. 9 at 7 a.m. Team rosters are not put together until after the try-outs are completed.
"We will be having a scrimmage soon after try-outs," promised Boyle. "I am so excited for this season. The girls are ready to get on the court and play."
The 2010 Monett volleyball schedule is as follows: Aug. 31, home vs. Carthage High School; Sept. 2, away vs. Springfield Central High School; Sept. 9, home vs. Reeds Spring High School; Sept. 14, home vs. McDonald County High School; Sept. 16, home vs. Neosho High School; Sept. 18, away, Ash Grove Tournament; Sept. 20, home vs. Aurora High School; Sept. 23, home vs. Mt. Vernon High School; Sept. 25, away, Strafford Tournament; Sept. 25, away, Republic JV Tournament; Sept. 28, home vs. East Newton High School; Sept. 30, away vs. Cassville High School; Oct. 5, home vs. Seneca High School; Oct. 7, away vs. Aurora High School; Oct. 12, away vs. East Newton High School; Oct. 14, home vs. Carl Junction High School; Oct. 16, away, Ozark Tournament; Oct. 19, away vs. Mt.
