The 10-and-under girls All-Star softball team from Monett won a couple of games at the regional tourney this past week, going up against the top teams in Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.
|After three games in pool play, Monett was seeded fifth, successfully making the top six teams that moved on to double elimination bracket play.|
|On Thursday, the Monett squad won against the Independence (Kan.) All Star "Lady Vipers." On Friday Monett lost to the Mineral Area "Fusion" and the Sikeston "Lady Dogs."|
|In bracket play, Monett won against a top Kansas team, the "Rose Hill Strikers," then fell to the number one-seeded team from Mineral Area, the "Fusion" and then to another top Kansas team, the "Lady Vipers."|

|Players on the Monett 10-and-under All-Star team include: Aleah Palmer, Ashley Bryand, Brenna Southern, Cassidy Abramovitz, Emma Hammond, Josie Allcock, Katie Kurima, Kelli McCallister, Kristen Abramovitz, Myra Dierker and Sydney Sebastian.|
The squad advanced to the regional tournament in Sikeston by placing third at the Missouri Babe Ruth State Tournament, which was held July 9, 10 and 11 in Cape Girardeau.
