Springfield-Springfield Livestock Marketing Center: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 7/19/2010

   Compared to last Monday, the bulk of slaughter cows and slaughter bulls
sold 2.00-4.00 lower. After opening near steady slaughter cow prices fell
during the auction. It appeared that several buyers fell out of the hunt for
slaughter cows after the sale began, leaving a couple buyers to absorb most
of the supply. The bred cow supply was very light but several cow/calf pairs
were included in the offering. Supply was moderate and demand moderate to
light for slaughter classes.
