Missouri Weekly Hay Summary- Week ending 07/09/10

Friday, July 9, 2010

Cooler weather settled over the state this week which not the usual for
Fourth of July celebrations. Much of the north got more rains just as
waters were starting to subside. Despite all the standing water the hill
tops and pastures in isolated areas welcomed the moisture. After missing
so much of the surplus water the north half of the state has received all
growing season many parts of the south finally saw some moisture which
they were most thankful for as areas were becoming very dry. Very little
haying was done this week as forecast showed fair to likely chances of
showers nearly every day. The supply of hay is moderate, demand moderate,
and prices steady. Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay directory
available for both buyers and sellers. To be listed, or for a directory,
