Amy Lou Haymes, age 90, of Monett, MO, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Cox Monett Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Amy was born on May 26, 1920 in Monett to the late Luther David and Amy (Bell) Vermillion. She attended school in Monett and graduated from Monett Junior College. She retired as a Medical Secretary at the Walter Reed Hospital in Washington D.C. Amy was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Monett. She enjoyed golfing and playing her violin.
In 1940 Amy Lou Vermillion married Jack Haymes and he preceded her in death. Amy is survived by her daughter: Jan Haiber and her husband, Don, of King Charles, Virginia; two grandsons: Jim Haiber and Donny Haiber, both of King Charles, Virginia; two nieces: Vicki Hall, of Lakewood, Colorado and Jan Barclay, of Springfield, Missouri; one nephew: Charles A. Rose of Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Haymes.
Graveside services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Pastor Richard Cody officiating.
