Brian Nichols, age 28, of Republic, MO., passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO. Brian was born on June 4, 1982 in Nevada, MO., the son of Timothy Ray Nichols, Sr. and Sharon Faye (Knapp) Nichols.
He was in the graduating class of 2000 from Northeast Vernon County High School in Walker, MO. and had attended Crowder College in Neosho, MO. Brian was employed at EFCO in Monett as a Product Data Specialist. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs, as well as golfing, fishing and hunting.
On May 19, 2007 in Republic, MO., Brian married Samara Smith. She survives. Additional survivors include his parents: Tim and Sharon Nichols, of Pierce City, MO.; one brother: Tim Nichols, Jr., of Purdy, MO.; one sister: Angelia Robinson and her husband, Gary; three nieces: Audrey, Ciara and Allison Robinson, all of Monett, MO.; paternal grandmother: Sharlene Nichols, of Monett; maternal grandmother: Sharon Ann Knapp, of Nevada, MO.; mother-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. John Crownover, of Clinton, Ark.; father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Smith, of Frenchville, Pa.; brother-in-law: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith and nephew, Matthew Smith, all of Jacksonville, FL.; and a host of aunts and uncles. Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Nichols, and maternal grandfather, Robert Knapp.
Graveside services will be held at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at the Bethel Cemetery, south of Monett. In memory of Brian, memorial contributions have been requested to the Nichols family, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett, MO.
