Eugene Wrobleski, age 81, of Pierce City, Missouri, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following an auto accident near Monett, Missouri.
Mr. Wrobleski was born on Sunday, May 26, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Edward and Rose Shaskey Wrobleski. He was the husband of Betty Michael Wrobleski whom he married on March 3, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas and she survives.
He served in the 203rd National Guard Unit until his retirement from the Guard in 1989. He was a Pierce City councilman for over 25 years and retired from the Mt. Vernon Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son: Mark Wrobleski, of Pierce City, MO; one daughter: Kathy Shelton, of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son: Scott Wrobleski; and two brothers: Gerald Wrobleski and Richard Wrobleski.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Peter J. Morciniec officiating. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City with Rosary services to be held at 7 p.m. under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home of Pierce City. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Activity Center.
