Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 6/16/10

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold 2.00 lower with in-
stances 3.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 1.00-2.00 lower. Slaughter
buyers indicate there are plenty of cows available across the country to
meet their needs and that demand has softened causing prices to back-up.
There was a moderate offering of mostly young bred cows and cow/calf
pairs. Supply and demand were moderate for slaughter classes.

1025.00, 1st stage 980-1200 lbs 725.00-800.00; broken mouth 3rd stage

3-5 yrs 800-960 lb cows w/150-200 lb calves 775.00-900.00. Medium 1-2  5
yrs to short and solid mouth 900-1040 lb cows w/150-210 lb calves and a few
rebred 775.00-1000.00.
