Theodore "Ted" L. Parrish, age 77, of Spokane Valley, Wash., formally of Monett, MO, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Valley, Wash., following a short illness.
Ted was born on October 23, 1932 in Monett, the son of the late George and Juanita (Ball) Parrish. Ted served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard and was the owner and operator of Parrish Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the Gunter Methodist Church in Butterfield, MO. On April 24, 1963, Ted and Sandra (Patton) Parrish were united in marriage in Monett. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1997.
He is survived by one son: Chris Parrish of Joplin, MO.; one daughter: Lisa Hill and husband, Mike, of Spokane Valley, Wash.; five grandchildren: Michael Hill and wife, Sara, Samuel Hill, Tyler Hill, Matthew Hill and Zane Hill; and one great-grandchild, Hailey Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Nickle officiating. Interment and military rites will follow in the Gunter Cemetery in Butterfield, MO. Memorial contributions have been requested to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
