Missouri Weekly Hay Summary - Week ending 05/20/2010

Wet weather has been very discouraging for farmers wanting to get to the 
hay fields. Hopes of getting any high quality hay baled are once again 
being affected by mother nature and the fact that fields of alfalfa and 
grass are getting to mature and quality is starting to drop.  The market 
for new crop hay has only been lightly tested as many producers haven’t been 
able to make any hay up to this point. The supply of hay is light, demand 
moderate, and prices steady. Missouri Department of Agriculture has a hay
