Elane Hutchens, age 82, of Stark City, Mo., died at 6:37 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at a Joplin healthcare facility.

Mrs. Hutchens was born on May 29, 1927, at Purdy, Mo., and was a lifelong resident of the Purdy and Stark City area and a graduate of the Purdy High School. She was a retired beautician and homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairview, Mo.

She married John M. Hutchens on March 28, 1948, in Barry County, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2010.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Tammy Hutchens, of Stark City; one daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Cecil Brill, of Joplin, Mo.; two sisters: Jessilyn Akin, of Verona, and Marjorie Ryder, of Cassville; five grandchildren: Jennifer Bobski, Dana Hutchens-VanLue, Chris Hutchens, Mikeal Bobski and Craig Hutchens; four step-grandchildren: Kyle Powell, Kane Powell, Audie Brill and Calvin Brill; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, near Fairview, Mo. Officiating will be Rev. Russ Johnson.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby after 9 a.m. on Monday, May 17. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 17.

The family requests for memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Hutchens be made to Hospice Compassus in c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 26, Granby, Mo. 64844.
