Jewell F. Simpson, age 84, of Jasper, (formerly of Cassville), passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Thursday May 6, at her home.
She was born on January 11, 1926 near Hallowell, Kan. to Olan James and Ruth (Zwahlen) Pryor. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Simpson on June 21, 1946 in Columbus, Kan. and he survives.
Jewell was a minister for the Church of God Holiness for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Emory Melton.
Jewell is survived by her husband Johnnie; two sons: Brian K. and wife, Stella Simpson, of Jasper, and Tracy N. and wife, Lorene Simpson, of Lamar; one brother: Leon Pryor, of Marshfield; one sister: Norma Hayes, of Springfield; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home with Rev. John Poff officiating. Burial will follow at Arnhart Cemetery.
