The Monett Cubs dominated the Seneca Indians on Tuesday night, 8-3.
The winning inning was the bottom of the second when Monett generated 6 runs, all under the gun of two outs.
Sparky Roberts got on with a hit, and Spenser Witt joined him on base with a bunt. Outfielder Doug Aldridge beat out a roller down the first base line, allowing Roberts to score.
Then the big bats came out. Marcus Enloe smashed a triple followed by more run-producing hits from Jake Smith and Marcus McCaffrey.
McCaffrey also pitched the first five innings for the win. After a few wild pitches provided Seneca's first runs, Andy Hagedorn came on for the save.
Seneca falls to 7-11 on the season and 2-5 in the Big 8. Monett rises to 10-5 and 5-2.
Reeds Spring comes to town for a game on Thursday. District seeding will be announced on Thursday as well.
