CMS track teams win at Cassville

At Cassville last week, the Monett Middle School seventh grade boys and girls teams won the meet.

Boy champions were: Kyndall Phillips, 100- and 200-meter dash; Zack Turner, high jump; 4x100 relay, Wesley Abramovitz, Tylan Saloga, George Fulton and Kyndall Phillips; and 4x400 relay, Zach Hammond, Kedric Brink, Dominick Witherow and Abramovitz.

Second place finishers were: Hammond, 200-meter dash; Witherow, 100 hurdles; and 4x200 relay, Hammond, Abramovitz, Fulton and Brink.

Third place medalists were: Erwin Perez, 800-meter run; and Levi Pfitzner, 1,600-meter run and triple jump.

Girl champions were: McKenna Mahl, pole vault; Bonnie Upchurch, discus; and Brooke Madison, 400-meter run.
Second place medalists were: Madison, 800-meter run; Shelby Obermann, shot put; Katie Kaiser, high jump; Tara Hancock, pole vault; and 4x200 relay, Brooke Burnside, Leslie Obregon, Katie Kaiser and Keegan McGuire. Halee Morris placed third in long jump.
The Monett eighth grade boys finished fifth. Their lone winner was Alexis Renteria in the 1,600-meter run. Aaron Aldrich was second in the pole vault. Third place finishers were: Jeremy Maldanado, 1,600-meter run; Renteria, 800-meter run; Chase Brennan, pole vault; and 4x200 relay, Jeremy Horton, Christian Alvarado, Brennan and Maldanado.

The eighth grade girls also finished fifth. Elizabeth Arnold was runner-up in the high jump. Third place finishers included Abbey Pilkenton in pole vault, Lupe Renteria in shot put and Hollie Huse in triple jump.
