Monett track teams win at Lamar relays

Monett's Tyler Green clears the bar at the Lamar Relays. The Cubs' boys and girls' track teams both prevailed Thursday in a field of 12 teams.
LAMAR - In a mixed field of medium and small schools, the Monett girls and boys won the Lamar relays with scores of 103 and 81 points respectively.

In the girls' competition, Ash Grove was second with 94 points and Pierce City came in third with 81.

Champions

Monett: Millie Fulton, 400-meter dash; Madison Carlin, 100 hurdles; and the 4x800 relay team.

Pierce City: Sara Stearns, shot put and discus.

Runners-up

Monett: Madison Carlin, long jump; Jennifer Frazier, shot put and discus; 4x200 relay team; and 4x400 relay team;

Pierce City: Kelsie Baldwin, 100 meter hurdles; Brianna Zebert, high jump; Chelsey Levingston, triple jump; and 4x800 relay team

Third place

Monett: Raigan Ratliff, 800 run; Madison Carlin, 300 hurdles; and Sara Hammond, triple jump.

On the boys side, Monett captured first with 81 points followed by Ash Grove 75 and Jasper 68. Pierce City finished seventh with 51 points.

Champions

Monett: Beau Bounous, discus.

Pierce City: Derek Turner, high jump; and 4x200 relay team.

Runners-up

Pierce City: Zach Crouch, shot put; and 4x200 relay team;

Third place

Monett: Jacob Murphy, 300 hurdles; Cody Mahl, pole vault; and Jason Obermann, shot put and discus.

Pierce City: Derek Turner, 800 run; Chance Chapman 110-meter hurdles; and Robert Baldwin, triple jump.
