On April 15, the Pierce City Eagle boys placed first with 74 points at the East Newton Invitational. Twenty teams competed.
|Champions were: Derek Turner, high jump, 6'3"; Cody Cox, 200-meter dash, 22.92; and Robert Baldwin, triple jump 41'5".|
Second place medalists were: Chance Chapman, 100 high hurdles and 300 hurdles; and the 4x100 and 4x200 relay team of Jordan Saffer, Cedric O'Hara, Tony Martin and Cox, 4x100.
Cedric O'Hara placed third in the 300 high hurdles.
|The Pierce City girls finished fifth with 62 points. Carl Junction won the even with 90 points.|
Sara Stearns was the lone champion with toss of 34'7" in the shot put. Brianna Zebert finished second in high jump.
Third place medalists were: Kelsie Baldwin, 100-meter high hurdles; Emily Ashley, 100 dash; Krishna Merriman, 400 run; Matie Parrigon, Ashley, Merriman and Zebert, 4x400 relay; and Chelsey Levingston, Rachel Miller, Ashley and Merriman, 4x100 relay.
The Pierce City track teams will host the Eagle Invitational on Tuesday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
