In the second Big 8 Conference game of the season, the Monett Cubs (2-0) traveled to Lamar and routed the Tigers 19-5 in five innings.
Junior Andy Hagedorn threw a five-hitter and was supported by just two errors in the field.
The Cubs rolled up 15 runs before Lamar got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Seventeen hits cycled Monett's batting order five times, producing a home run by Marcus Enloe, triples by Spenser Witt and Colten Phillips and doubles by Doug Aldridge, Jesse Bremer, Jake Smith (2), Witt and Enloe.
"We hit the ball as solidly as I have ever had a team hit," said Cubs' Coach Michael Calhoun.
Monett is now 5-3 overall and visits Cassville on Tuesday.
Pierce City lost 8-7 at Dadeville on Thursday night. Highlights for the Eagles were at the plate with Mitchell Gibson driving in three runs on a home run and Wayne Joe Sooter's double that produced a run. The team is now 3-6 on the year.
Host Purdy defeated Sarcoxie on Thursday, 6-3. The Eagles had nine hits and one error. Kevin Miller had three hits and got the win on the mound for Purdy, now 6-5.
