|Roy A. Moore, age 90, of Verona, passed away on Thursday, April 8, at his home.||He was born on December 3, 1919 in Galena, to Lawrence and Sylvia (Foster) Moore.|
Roy united in marriage to Louise Wormington on October 19, 1947. She preceded him in death on June 30, 1980. Roy later married Doris Sustaire on March 4, 1984 and she survives.
Roy was an Army veteran and served during WWII. He attended East Side Church of Christ in Monett. He retired as a farmer and was a member of the Jenkins VFW.
Roy is survived by his wife along with two sons: Carl Moore, of Verona and Sammy Moore, of Raytown; five step-sons: Jess Arnold, Joe Arnold and Paul Arnold, of Pea Ridge, Ark., Danny Arnold of, Wilson, Okla. and John Arnold, of Verona; one step-daughter: Mary Steele of Youngstown, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Nelson, Clarence, Frankie and Willie; and one sister, Alice.
|Visitation will be held on Sunday April 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, in Monett.|
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday April 12, at Purdy Cemetery with Brother Don Deffenbaugh officiating.
