A token of the organization's appreciation was presented to Monett R-1 Superintendent Dr. John Jungmann as one of eight outstanding young superintendents in the state by Bruce Johnson, superintendent at Stanberry and the MASA president-elect, at right, during the recent MASA Spring Conference.
Monett R-1 Superintendent Dr. John Jungmann was recently honored by Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA) as one of eight outstanding young superintendents in the state.

According to Roger Kurtz with MASA, Missouri is broken into eight areas, and administrators in each section select someone who has never been a superintendent in another district who has made a measurable contribution to district efforts. Southwest Missouri superintendents this year voted to recognize Jungmann in his second year as superintendent in Monett.

The MASA Awards Committee goes to chairmen for each district to determine the selection, largely made by a superintendent's peers.
