The Pierce City junior varsity track teams competed Monday at McDonald County with the girls' squad placing second and the Eagle boys finishing fourth.
The girls were paced by victories in the 4x400 (sophomore Mattie Parrigon, freshmen Brianna Zebert, Krishna Merriman and Becca Hatfield) and the 4x800 (sophomores Amanda Zabala and Parrigon, freshmen Faith Strong and Hatfield) relays.
Runner-up success was earned by junior Allison Shulup in the 100-meter high hurdles, sophomore Makina Kelley in the 300 hurdles and pole vault and Brianna Zebert in the high jump and long jump.
Kelley also took fourth place in the triple jump. Sophomore Jenn Velton finished third in the long jump.
The individual Eagle champion for the day was on the boys' team. Sophomore Zach Crouch tossed the discus 100 feet for a gold medal.
Second place finishers included freshman Cedric O'Hara in the 300-meter hurdles and Crouch in the shot put. O'Hara also took third in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200. Freshman Ryan Turner's leap of 5'4" earned him third in the high jump.
The Pierce City varsity hosts the Hillbilly Relays on April 13.
