Business is hit by burglars two times

Thursday, April 1, 2010

A Monett area business was the target of two break-ins during a three-day period this past week, according to Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay.

Equipment was been stolen on two separate dates at Fritz Implement, Inc., located north of Monett on Highway H. On March 27, during the overnight hours, a Kubota RTV was stolen by use of a Fritz Implement tractor. The RTV was valued at approximately $13,000. The tractor was used to move the RTV over the fence.

At 7 a.m. on March 30, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department was called to Fritz Implement after another theft was discovered. A three-point backhoe was stolen sometime during the night of March 29, again with the help of a Fritz Implement tractor. The value of the backhoe was approximately $4,000.

According to DeLay, the possibility of the same suspect being involved in both thefts is highly possible. The department is following leads and studying surveillance video as the investigation into the thefts continues.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Fritz Implement during the nights of March 27 and March 29 is urged to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at 417-466-2131.
