Barry County primary filings go unchanged

Barry County's August primary election will offer only one contested race. Two Cassville attorneys are vying for the position of Division II Associate Circuit Judge on the Republican ticket.

Cordelia Herrin will face off against Robert "Bob" Foulke in the primary election. Judge Carr Woods is not seeking re-election.

Incumbents who have filed for re-election include: Johnnie Cox, prosecuting attorney; Cherry Warren, presiding commissioner; Gary Youngblood, county clerk; Janice Varner, collector; Lois Lowe, treasurer; Craig Williams, circuit clerk and recorder of deeds; and Victor Head, Division I Associate Circuit judge.

All candidates who have filed for the upcoming primary are Republicans.

Filing for the August election closed at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The election will be held on Aug. 3.
