The Monett R-1 School Board and members of the Proposition CUBS (Citizens United for Better Schools) election committee will be hosting an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 in the Monett Elementary School campus cafeteria.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the $4.5 million Proposition CUBS bond issue that district voters will decide in the April 6 election.
During the meeting, Superintendent Dr. John Jungmann, school board members and district architects will be in attendance to present construction and renovation plans for the elementary campus. The public will be able to ask questions about the bond issue during the meeting.
"We hope you will take the time to join us at this meeting and learn more information about Proposition CUBS and why it is an important decision for our students and school," said Dr. Jungmann.
The April 6 ballot initiative is designed to address security and safety concerns at the elementary campus while also providing a more effective and efficient learning environment for students. The bond issue is a no tax increase proposal.
All district patrons are encouraged to attend the April 1 informational meeting.
