Mrs. Jewell Nadeen Nickle Davis, 89, of Purdy, passed away on Sunday, March 28.
Jewell Davis was born on August 17, 1920, in Butterfield, the daughter of Walter and Corda (Vaughan) Nickle.
She went to live with her Lord on the morning of Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the age of 89 years, 6 months, and 11 days.
|Jewell was a lifelong resident of Butterfield/Purdy communities and of Barry County. She was a teacher; and later she and her husband, Ralph, co-owned Farmer's Flour and Feed Company of Purdy. She was a homemaker and attended Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church of Purdy.||Jewell was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and a grandson: Dustin Mallory.|
She was extremely active in her community and in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four children; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren: Sammye and Larry Beck, of Joplin, and their son, Adam and wife Becky; son Adrian; and son Aaron and wife, Heather and their children, Rowan and Jillian; Sallye and Jarold Mallory, of Joplin and their son Ethan; Kelly Davis, of McKinney, Texas, and his children; daughter, Abby and her son, Mason; daughter; Meryl, and son, Austin; Perry and Kim Davis, of Joplin and their children: Tyler, Phillip, Clare and Alec.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30 at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, in Monett.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31 at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Neill and Rev. Jerry Nickle officiating. Burial will be in the Purdy Cemetery immediately following the service.
