Vivian Timmons, age 75, of Pierce City, passed away in Harlingen, Texas on Sunday, March 21.
She was born in Kansas City on Sept. 5, 1934, to Cecil and Marie Henry.
Vivian and Gene raised their family in Springfield and they settled in Pierce City after retirement.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; her dear daughter: Cathy; and her eldest niece: Rita.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Gene; devoted sons: Larry Timmons and wife, Mechele; and Steve Timmons and wife, Lisa; beloved sister: Mary Hicks and husband, Bill; supportive sister-in-law: Bonnie Mizer and husband, Bill; adoring grandchildren: Carie Paden and husband, Bart; Lisa Mason and husband, John; Kellie Timmons, Alex Timmons, Ashley Timmons, Menden Scott and husband, Cain; and Amanda Timmons; much-loved great-grandchildren: Oakley, Noah, and Elijah Paden; Parker, Peyton and Price Mason; and Landon Scott; caring nieces: Teresa Gleason and husband, Ronnie; Debbie Stewart and nephews: Ricky Hicks, David Hicks and wife, Carol.
She was an avid gardener and an amazing cook who was happiest when she was with her family. As a "winter Texan", Vivian looked forward to warm winters with her friends in Harlingen each year. Vivian's family and friends will remember her for her generous and loving nature. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Peter Morciniec officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buchanan Funeral Home.
