A Purdy man was killed last night in a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 37 at Purdy.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, John M. Webb, 41, was pronounced dead at the crash scene by Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn. Webb was killed when he drove his 2001 Ford Tauras into the path of a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by Danita O. Dalton, 46, of Cassville.
Dalton was treated for minor injuries at St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Two passengers in the Dalton vehicle, Jamie J. Dalton, 16, and Mecheil E. Shiflett, 22, both of Cassville, also received minor injuries in the crash, which occurred at 8:55 p.m.
The Patrol report indicated that Webb, Danita Dalton and Shiflett were all wearing seat belts and Jamie Dalton was not.
Crash involves bus
Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash that involved an Aurora school bus on Monday morning. The incident occurred on Highway ZZ three miles north of Aurora.
|According to the Patrol, Ociel Barriga, 41, of Verona, was heading east on Highway ZZ and had stopped his 1993 Nissan Sentra for a school bus that had stopped at Farm Road 1210. Brenda Powell, 61, of Aurora, failed to stop and collided with the Barriga vehicle in her 2002 Mercury Cougar. The collision forced the Barriga car into the school bus, driven by Karen Meagher, 40, of Aurora, which was in the westbound lane.||Barriga and Scott Crumm, 16, of Aurora, a passenger in the school bus, were both taken to St. John's Hospital-Aurora and treated for minor injuries. Powell and Meagher were not injured in the crash, which occurred at 7:03 a.m. The Patrol report indicated all three drivers were wearing their seat belts.|
