Joplin Regional Stockyards: Cow and Bull Auction Close for 3/10/10

Receipts:  1163   Last Week:  1137   Last Year:  586

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold
fully steady to 1.00 higher. Open weather conditions continues to bring
heavier receipts. Several dispersals provided a heavy supply of cow/calf
pairs but a light supply of bred cows. Supply was heavy and demand good
for slaughter classes.

Medium and Large 2  4 yrs to short and solid mouth 900-1100 lb cows w/
babies to 275 lb calves 675.00-900.00; broken mouth 965-1100 lb cows w/140-
250 lb calves 600.00-625.00. Medium 1-2  4-6 yrs couple 975-1000 lb cows w/
